Leeds United could be spending big in the summer, if they earn promotion to the Premier League under Daniel Farke.
Leeds United took another huge step towards the Premier League on Monday night after coming from behind to beat Sunderland 2-1, owing to a late Pascal Struijk brace.
Daniel Farke has earned praise for his double change in the second half, bringing on Struijk and Joe Rothwell, with Rothwell then providing the assists for both of Struijk’s headed goals.
Next up is a game against 2nd place Sheffield United. Leeds remain in 1st place of the Championship table and a win at Bramall Lane on Monday night would put Leeds five points clear of the Blades, whilst Burnley in 3rd are currently seven points behind the Whites.
As the summer draws closer and Leeds edge towards promotion, Farke’s side are being linked with more and more players, mainly attacking players with the likes of Emi Buendia and Cameron Archer mentioned as possible targets.
Now, Norwich City and USMNT striker Josh Sargent is once again being linked with a move to Elland Road, where he’d reunite with former Canaries boss Farke.

Carlton Palmer backs Leeds United to sign Norwich City man Josh Sargent
Last summer, Leeds were linked with Sargent at Norwich City. It was claimed that Farke fancied reuniting with his 2021 signing in East Anglia. Ahead of the next summer transfer window, Leeds are again being linked with Sargent, who’s so far scored nine and assisted five in 19 Championship games this season.
Speaking to Football League World, pundit Carlton Palmer has now backed Leeds to get a deal over the line for Sargent this summer. He said: “It would be interesting to see – he’s definitely looking for firepower, although Leeds United have scored a lot of goals. They’ve scored 68 goals, and it’s been spread – not one player has scored an awful lot of goals.
“If Norwich don’t get promotion – and it’s highly unlikely, they’d have to get a race on now to get into the playoffs – it would seem that Leeds can agree a fee with Norwich. I think he’ll be one of those players that Daniel Farke would like to bring to the football club.
“But the opportunity to play in the Premier League would be too good an opportunity for him to turn down.”

Has Josh Sargent’s stance on a Leeds United move changed?
Last summer, it was revealed that Sargent was happy to stay at Norwich City despite interest from Leeds. Described as a ‘ridiculous’ talent, Sargent is now thought to be open to leaving Carrow Road in the summer.
After going through a managerial change in the summer, Johannes Hoff Thorup’s Norwich side started poorly but have since stabilised, currently sitting in 12th place of the table with 15 more games to play.
They only sit four points outside the top six but with so many teams in that area of the table, Norwich’s chances of securing a top six spot this season still seem slim. And if they miss out then Sargent would have every reason to leave.
And if Leeds go up, they’d have the resources to make a deal happen.
