Focus is set to immediately turn to Leeds United’s work in the transfer window with huge importance placed on getting recruitment right to avoid the fate of Leicester, Ipswich and Southampton.
The three promoted clubs spent a combined £300m during 2024-25 and yet, none of them were able to put up a proper fight. Ipswich are not confirmed as down, but only by goal difference with five games left.
The 49ers want six new signings this summer. A goalkeeper, a centre-back, a left-back, a midfielder, a new winger and a striker. Many will argue The Whites also need a replacement for Brenden Aaronson at no.10.
But it may already be clear which player will join the club to tick the winger column. Manor Solomon has played a key role out wide for Leeds this season, but there are numerous interested parties after the star.

Manor Solomon’s preferred choice after superb Leeds loan
The Israel skipper has had a hand in 20 Championship goals this season after two assists on Monday, as Leeds smashed Stoke City to win 6-0 and gain promotion back to the Premier League under Daniel Farke.
Whether he will sign permanently is yet to be confirmed, though Solomon has suggested he would like to join Leeds beyond his loan if promoted. With The Whites now promoted, Solomon’s signing feels likely.
The 49ers expect Solomon to sign on. Now, a report from Give Me Sport says that Solomon prefers Leeds over moves to Angus Kinnear’s new side Everton and relegated Southampton as well as overseas clubs.

How much Daniel Levy has told Leeds that Solomon will cost
Levy is renowned as a shrewd operator at Tottenham and Solomon will be no different for the London club. Indeed, Spurs signed Solomon on a free after his Fulham loan from Ukraine side Shakhtar Donetsk.
Two seasons after his Tottenham arrival, Levy has told Leeds he wants between £15m and £20m to sign Solomon permanently. A fee Leeds should be able to manage, as well as his £54k-a-week wage packet.
Keeping Solomon should be a priority for The 49ers given his form in the second half of the season. A player that Stuart Dallas says has been “fantastic” for Leeds, after helping The Whites get the job done.
