Leeds United are in the market for a new midfielder signing before Friday’s deadline having secured replacements for both Crysencio Summerville and Georginio Rutter.
Following Rutter’s move to Brighton, Farke outlined the need for four signings before the deadline. He made it public that he wanted The 49ers to bring in replacements for outgoing Rutter and Summerville.
Leeds have done that, in the form of a £10m deal for Largie Ramazani followed by a loan deal for Manor Solomon from Tottenham. Farke also made it clear he wanted a full-back and a goalscoring midfielder.
Plenty have been linked with Leeds told to pay £18m for Gustavo Hamer, after a £13m bid for Hamer was rejected by Sheffield United. Another linked with Leeds has chosen not to drop into the Championship.
Philip Billing rules out Championship move after Leeds links
It emerged this week that Leeds were keeping tabs on Bournemouth’s Philip Billing. The £15m Cherries star has fallen slightly out of favour at The Vitality, and Leeds were ready to make a move for Billing.
But, Leeds were not alone in pursuit of the star. Indeed, Sheffield United were ironically leading the race for Billing, while Scott Parker’s Burnley are also said to have shown interest in the “outstanding” player.
However, Billing has now made a decision on his future and interest from three Championship hopefuls. According to The Mirror’s David Anderson, Billing is unwilling to drop into England’s second tier.
He said: “Leeds want Fortuna Düsseldorf’s Ao Tanaka after Sheffield United rejected their £13m offer for Gus Hamer and Bournemouth’s Philip Billing said he would not drop down to the Championship.”

Despite the signings of Ramazani and Solomon, it has also been claimed that Leeds are ‘pushing hard’ to sign Freiburg’s 52-time Hungary star Roland Sallai. He has just entered the last year of his Freiburg deal.
But, Anderson also reported that while there is interest from Leeds in Sallai, a deal to sign the versatile attacker has little chance. He said: “Leeds are also keen on Freiburg’s Roland Sallai, but a deal is unlikely.”
Leeds have so far made six signings in the form of Alex Cairns, Jayden Bogle, Joe Rodon, Joe Rothwell, Ramazani and Solomon. Leeds fans could get to see the latter two for the first time on Saturday, v Hull.
