Jason Pearce says Leeds United have just signed one of the best talents he’s ever seen

Jason Pearce is full of praise for the piece of transfer business his former club Leeds United have just done.

Pearce spent two-and-a-half-years as a player at Elland Road in what were some of the most difficult times in the club’s history.

Having joined from Portsmouth in the summer of 2012, Pearce went onto make 113 appearances for Leeds under five different managers.

Though Leeds fans have been frustrated at the way the 49ers have approached this transfer window both in terms of incomings and outgoings, it is a far cry from the mess the club was in back then.

Leeds were stuck in Championship mediocrity for what felt like an eternity, yet if Daniel Farke lands the three new signings he wants in the next seven days, another promotion push could be on the cards.

Pearce hails Leeds signing Largie Ramazani

It promises to be a very busy end to the window at Elland Road and unlike during Pearce’s time at the club, there is money to spend.

Leeds have generated the most amount of cash through player sales across the whole of Europe this summer and began their late window spending spree on Thursday.

The Whites officially completed the signing of UD Almeria winger Largie Ramazani on a four-year-deal, ending the long 32-day wait for a fifth incoming of the window.

Ramazani is expected to be the replacement for Crysencio Summerville and based on Pearce’s verdict on Twitter after Leeds’ announcement of his signing, he could well be the man to do exactly that.

Following retirement, Pearce has now gone into coaching with his first role coming in the academy at Charlton Athletic, the place Ramazani was before he joined Manchester United’s youth setup.

Pearce says Ramazani is one of the ‘best talents’ he has ever seen having only coached him for a matter of weeks before his move to Old Trafford.

He said: “Big signing. I remember coaching his age for a few weeks before Man United signed him. One of the best talents I’ve seen. #cafc #lufc.”

What next for Leeds in the transfer market?

As mentioned previously, Leeds are still on the hunt for three more signings, with those positions being full-back, central midfield and attack.

Starting in defence, Leeds are in the market for some cover at left-back for Junior Firpo and have been linked with Liverpool’s Owen Beck recently.

A new attack-minded number eight is also on the list and it would not be a surprise if Leeds reignited their interest in FC Koln’s Dejan Ljubicic, who is keen on the move. Manchester United’s Hannibal Mejbri is an option too.

Finally, Leeds know how important it is to get Georginio Rutter’s replacement right and so have several options on their list, including Roland Sallai, Ilan Kebbal, Manuel Benson, Calvin Stengs and Manor Solomon.
