A consistent striker is needed in the Premier League for Leeds United if they are to have any chance of staying up.

Joel Piroe could be the answer to this, but the Dutchman also proved to struggle in the big moments.

19 goals was a very solid outing for Leeds, however, the top flight is a whole different ball game in the grand scheme of things.

Someone who has been there and done it is Tammy Abraham, whose future looks uncertain at parent club Roma, with Leeds looking into a £21.5m deal for Abraham.

Abraham should be on Leeds’ radar, and now an update has emerged with plenty of goings-on at Roma at this moment.

Fresh update appears on Leeds United target Tammy Abraham

Abraham has proven his worth at this level during his time with Chelsea, finding the net 21 times across the two seasons he played a major role.

Italy has been good to the 27-year-old, and despite scoring some vital goals, a Premier League return could be firmly on.

It was said that Abraham’s wage is too excessive, but the 49ers have an ambitious project at hand, and they can make the striker the face of it.

However, there will be a delay now for when the Whites can make a move after Roma made the appointment of new manager Gian Piero Gasperini.

Corriere Dello Sport has revealed that Gasperini is now ‘evaluating Abraham ahead of his final decision on the striker.

The 27-year-old will return from his loan at Milan, and it’s said the evaluation will commence in the second week of July.

Leeds should hold out till July for Abraham

Although Abraham’s arrival would be highly expensive, the 49ers are more than likely going to rely on loan deals this summer.

The striker coming in could be a statement signing, and the owners can focus on cut-price signings as planned.

It’s unclear whether Abraham would open his arms for a move to Elland Road, but if he did, Leeds must act quickly after his past performances.

There is set to be competition for Abraham, which doesn’t come as a surprise with the forward’s credentials, but with his time abroad seemingly filtering out slightly, the Premier League could be the perfect rejuvenation.

Fans will know all too well what the 27-year-old can do, especially after his time on loan with Aston Villa.

He is the perfect solution to Daniel Farke’s goal-scoring problems, and July will be the month to pounce
