Leeds United might be in a different league to Frank Lampard now, but he’s still causing issues.
With the Whites moving on to hopefully retaining their status in the Premier League this season, a return to the Championship is the last thing needed.
The 49ers’ masterplan at Elland Road would take a severe hit as it seems like the plan is for Leeds to spend big next summer.
This could see more ambitious names walk through the door rather than the strategic approach they’ve used this window.
Another Leeds target who could fit into these plans has Lampard in the way, as the Coventry City boss isn’t messing about.

Southampton have bid rejected for Leeds United target Jack Rudoni
Daniel Farke could be missing an attacking midfielder in his regime ahead of the new campaign, which starts in ten days time for Leeds.
Despite Brenden Aaronson impressing against Villarreal, more reinforcements are needed, as Jack Rudoni is an exciting option.
Leeds have wanted Rudoni since May, as his future still needs to be decided, with Southampton putting an offer on the table.
According to journalist Jack Rosser, this bid has been rejected by the Sky Blues, as Lampard’s message is clear in terms of keeping the 24-year-old.
Coventry want £30 million for Rudoni, which is quite a steep fee for an unproven Premier League player.
But Leeds know of the midfielder’s talent and might want to re-emerge on the scene.

Frank Lampard will play hardball with Leeds United for Jack Rudoni
Although the Whites have only shown a minor interest, Rudoni provides a creative threat that Farke’s side are desperately lacking.
Lampard’s asking price is a bit excessive, but his performances in the second tier last season do present a case for this fee.
| Games played | 43 |
| Goals | 9 |
| Assists | 12 |
| Chances created | 78 |
| Successful crosses per 90 | 1.92 |
| Pass accuracy % | 80.7% |
He was one of the more intriguing talents from last campaign, as Lampard called Rudoni an ‘absolute dream’.
But the Coventry boss won’t budge over and will no doubt stick to this price, especially if the Whites come knocking.
After their bad blood, the Chelsea legend will no doubt play hardball with Leeds and any other team, as Southampton are the first victims of Coventry’s tricky negotiating.
This warning could leave the Whites to back away, as the 49ers don’t have time to play Lampard’s games.
