Leeds United have incorporated plenty of young talent and experience over the years and Daniel Farke could pursue one area in this January transfer window.
Leeds United have had plenty to ponder so far in January with lots of names being linked with a move to Elland Road.
Daniel Farke has designed a squad fit for all purposes matching both experience and young and upcoming talent.
However, with the squad aligned in having the best of both worlds, Farke may see more positives in going all-in on one specific region of his squad.

Farke issues Leeds transfer guarantee with ‘young’ approach to squad
Farke spoke in his pre-match press conference following Leeds’ collapse in a 3-3 draw with Hull City at the KCM Stadium, detailing his updated transfer plans.
Farke didn’t rule out any idea of strengthening the squad as he suggested he would think about ‘what we need to do’.
However, Farke made one guarantee for his Leeds squad and that was to keep his squad on the younger side going into February.
Farke: “We have decided to go with a pretty young group and to earn lots of money last summer and to stick to our young prospects and want to deliver them. But then you also have to accept that they’re not steeled with 300 battles on Championship level.
“We have many players playing either their first games on Championship level or first or second season. We know in terms of responsibility, experience, and consistency especially they’re not the end products and sometimes there are mistakes.
“We have to keep going developing individually and the whole squad. We’ve done pretty well, we’re top of the league after a busy period, unbeaten for a while, and on a really good path. If we do something in January I can guarantee already right now we will still have a relatively young squad.”
Leeds’ transfer targets match with Farke’s transfer recruitment
One way you could see the Leeds boss going against his transfer philosophy is Farke’s potential desire to see Joe Gelhardt leave this window.
However, judging by how many younger targets Leeds have been linked to, it could provide Leeds fans with an idea of the kind of players they’re hoping to sign.
Louie Barry is a name that’s cropped up all window for Leeds with the striker only being 21, and after Leeds’ past recruitment of Largie Ramazani (23) and the introduction of Mateo Joseph (21) this season, it helps to back up this plan from Farke.
| Youngest squads in the Championship | |
| 1. Sunderland | 23.2 |
| 2. Stoke City | 23.8 |
| 3. Sheffield United | 24.1 |
| 4. Hull City | 24.6 |
| 10. Leeds United | 25.2 |
So, if Leeds are to do business this January, the last element you’d expect is experience coming into the frame.
