Leeds United are close to making their ninth summer signing with one or two more expected after Noah Okafor’s arrival, but such an influx of players means the club will have to make a few sales.

Looking at last season’s title-winning squad, Josuha Guilavogui and Junior Firpo have left on a free. Manor Solomon and Joe Rothwell’s loans ended without permanent moves, with Rothwell at Rangers.

Mateo Joseph, Charlie Crew and Joe Gelhardt have all gone on loan. But there are plenty of players at Leeds that need to leave, with Patrick Bamford the main one after being told he’s not in the Leeds plans.

Sam Greenwood and Darko Gyabi remain in limbo, while Okafor’s arrival means Leeds will now have five wingers and either Jack Harrison or Largie Ramazani could go. Illan Meslier is also expected to leave.

Cesc Fabregas’ Como offered Leeds United player for tiny fee

Daniel Farke did not take Meslier to Ireland to face Milan, and his no.1 shirt has been taken by Lucas Perri. Against Everton, Meslier was not on the bench and the Frenchman has entered the final year of his deal.

Phil Hay believes Meslier’s time at Leeds is now up, with the former Lorient man now considered third or even fourth choice. Alex Cairns might even be above him. Italian site Il Giorno say Como could sign him.

Cesc Fabregas’ ambitious Como want to sign a goalkeeper. Talks for Barcelona’s Inaki Pena are proving difficult with Barcelona preferring a loan and Il Giorno say Meslier has been offered to Como for £4.3m.

Which other clubs have been linked with Illan Meslier?

A move to Como is nothing new for Meslier. Transfer expert Graeme Bailey told LeedsUnited.News that Como are in the running for Meslier, along with PSG who are keen to bring in a back-up goalkeeper.

Lille are also said to have taken a look, after PSG signed Lucas Chevalier as a replacement for Gianluigi Donnarumma. Then, there is Meslier’s old side Lorient. Lorient have held talks to bring Meslier back.

Lorient’s manager Olivier Pantaloni has confirmed his side’s interest in Meslier. So, there are plenty of clubs interested in signing Meslier, but nothing has materialised in terms of him actually leaving, yet.
