With new signings gradually arriving at Elland Road over the past month or so, one significant position that has needed reinforcement is goalkeeper.
The arrival of Lucas Perri from Lyon has meant one Leeds player may see less game and Farke appears to have shed some light on the situation.
Lucas Perri made his debut for Leeds United in a pre-season friendly against AC Milan.
During his 45-minute appearance in front of a sell-out crowd in Dublin, Perri showcased his impressive 50-meter throws and Karl Darlow replaced him for the second half.
With the arrival of Perri, one goalkeeper has been pushed down the Leeds ‘pecking order,’ and now he could be provided with a way out.

Illan Meslier attracting attention from three clubs in France
After Leeds’ pre-season fixture v AC Milan, Daniel Farke shed some light on Meslier’s situation: “We decided to play two goalkeepers so it was not necessary for him (Meslier) to travel.”
He also stated that Darlow was “ahead of him (Meslier) in the pecking order.”
Farke also explained his decision to give Perri the number one shirt. “It’s quite normal. We invested – by our standards – a big sum to bring Lucas in.”
With this admission from Farke, it comes as no surprise that Leeds are working hard to offload the Meslier.
Transfer expert Graeme Bailey told LeedsUnited.News: “As it stands am told there is interest, mainly coming from France but a few others.
“Lille are one who have been approached following Lucas Chevalier’s move. Am told that PSG have looked should they lose their current no 2 Arnau Tenas. There is also Como.
“The problem for Leeds is the longer this goes in the window they might have to loan him. But Leeds are working hard to get him out.”

Illan Meslier fell out of favour at Elland Road
Illan Meslier’s decline in favour at Leeds United can be attributed to a series of high-profile mistakes that cost their team crucial points.
Since first arriving at Elland Road on a season-long loan in 2019, the French goalkeeper was a key figure, but his form began to unravel, leading to a loss of confidence.
A notable blunder came in a pivotal 2-2 draw with Sunderland, where Meslier fumbled a seemingly routine ball in the final moments of the game, gifting the opposition a late equaliser.
He also made a costly error against Swansea, dropping a corner to allow a goal, and conceding a soft goal in a draw with Hull City.
These lapses in judgment led manager Daniel Farke to drop him for the final games of the season, a decision made to protect the goalkeeper and provide stability to the team.
Karl Darlow took his place, helping the team secure promotion.
