Ben Doak is a young, exciting footballer who Leeds United are considering in the summer transfer window.
The Premier League season is just a week away and the hard work is about to really get going for Leeds United in their quest for survival.
Daniel Farke has done well to get his squad ready for the top-flight, increasing the height, experience and strength of his squad with seven industrious signings.
However, the manager himself admits there is a lack of attacking quality in his side and Leeds are now targeting forward positions ahead of deadline day.
A striker, winger and playmaker are all on the agenda, with Leeds missing out on top target Igor Paixao.
A new name seems to be touted every day and the latest to be linked with a move to Elland Road is Ben Doak.
Here’s what you need to know about him.

Who is Ben Doak?
Doak is one of the brightest talents to come out of Scotland in years and appears destined for big things in the game.
His potential was so obvious from a young age that he was handed his debut by Celtic aged just 16 and Liverpool paid £600,000 in compensation to sign him in 2022.
Since then, Doak has continued his development at Melwood and made 10 appearances for the senior Liverpool side.
He spent 2024-25 on loan in the Championship with Middlesbrough, where he picked up 10 goal contributions in his first season of senior football.
Ben Doak to Leeds United transfer news
Doak is a new name to be linked with a move to Leeds, with The Athletic’s Beren Cross revealing he has been ‘discussed’ internally on August 7.
However, it’s reported Liverpool will not let him go for anything less than a sizeable £20m fee, which is more than Leeds have paid for any player this summer.
However, Doak’s potential could make him a good signing for Leeds.
What position does Ben Doak play?
Doak is almost strictly a right winger, with the vast majority of his games to date coming on the flank. If signed, that would put him in direct competition with Dan James for a spot.
He has, on a handful of occasions, played on the left and even up front but that doesn’t appear to be his best position.
Ben Doak age
Born on November 11, 2005, in Dalry, Scotland, Doak is just 19 years old as of August 2025.
Farke has been signing players with experience in the 26-28 age range this summer, so Doak would be a big exception to the rule.
How tall is Ben Doak?
Doak stands at just 5’9″ tall, which does go against Farke’s plan of signing big players this summer for the Premier League.
However, despite his stature, Doak has a broad frame and has no problem with getting himself stuck into the action.

Praise for Ben Doak
Speaking after giving Doak a run out in a friendly against AC Milan in 2022, former Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp was full of praise.
“Ben Doak comes on, 17 years old, and is this kind of natural force, it’s really cool to see,” he said.
“I’m not sure the Academy could watch the game tonight but when you see these boys and performing in a game like this, it’s cool.
“It’s a real physical game, adult football is a physical game and the boys need to make these steps so they can get ready for it step by step.
“How I said, the physical part will come but until you are that strong, you can create a lot of ideas, you can do things a bit smarter.”
Michael Carrick managed Doak at Boro and also spoke highly of him. He said last year, via The Northern Echo.
“He’s (Doak) a different threat to most. He’s quite direct and not so much loads of tricks and skills, but he has that attribute to be low with his centre of gravity and his sharpness to be really direct.
“Credit to the boys for supplying him and using him and bringing out the best in him. He certainly fits the system really well, and it’s up to us to keep pushing him and developing him and trying to make him better.
“It’s clear for everyone to see the threat and talent he has. We’re still trying to help him in certain parts of his game, but he’s certainly having a really good spell at the moment. Hopefully, that continues.”
