Leeds United’s young squad is bound to be attracting interest from elsewhere.

The core of Leeds’ success this season has been based on their talented youngsters, with 22-year-old Crysencio Summerville scooping the Championship’s POTS award on Tuesday, and Archie Gray the league’s YPOTS. They are both now valued extremely highly.

Fellow youngsters Ethan Ampadu and Georginio Rutter were also named in the division’s TOTS alongside Summerville, showing the amount of potential Leeds actually have.

Unfortunately with that, though, comes some of Europe’s biggest clubs having already started to circle. The chances of Leeds selling would also be heightened if they fail to win promotion.

Leeds released their accounts last week and while Phil Hay has confirmed they are compliant with PSR, it is also clear major player sales will be needed if they remain in the Championship.

Bayern Munich now ‘monitoring’ Leeds youngster Gray

Newly crowned Bundesliga champions Bayer Leverkusen have already been linked with a move for Summerville ahead of the summer, and it now appears Bayern Munich are taking a look at one of Leeds’ players too.

For the first time since the 2011/12 season, Bayern will not be crowned the best team in Germany and so this summer could represent a time for a rebuild.

According to Florian Plettenberg, Bayern are now ‘monitoring’ Leeds starlet Gray after a stellar breakthrough campaign at Elland Road.

That said, the Sky in Germany journalist did suggest he is not currently a hot topic for Bayern, and so Leeds can rest slightly easier knowing a potential deal is not imminent.

Gray only signed a new long-term deal at Leeds in January until 2028 and so the Whites are well protected in that regard, though that will not stop clubs from circling.

Fellow German side Borussia Dortmund, where Jude Bellingham was so successful, have been linked, as well as the likes of Liverpool and Manchester United.

Leeds could look to offer Gray a new deal already

As mentioned, Gray actually only signed a new deal a matter of months ago, but Leeds are already thinking about handing him a new one.

It is also thought Gray would not be willing to join another English team at the moment, which could be good news for either Bayern or Dortmund.

That said, Gray has previously spoken of wanting to win the Champions League at Leeds, and he would not be able to do so by leaving so quickly.

Hopefully the 18-year-old stays at his boyhood club for the long-term, though some of the clubs that are interested in him must be tempting.
