Centre-back Andrew Omobamidele is well in the doldrums at Nottingham Forest, having not made a single league appearance all season. But Leeds United and Omobamidele’s former Norwich City boss Daniel Farke could hand him a lifeline in January.
Andrew Omobamidele is one name linked with Leeds United right now. The Republic of Ireland international is well out of favour at Nottingham Forest with just one Carabao Cup appearance to his name all season.
Even for the last FA Cup outing against Luton Town, Omobamidele was left out of the Nottingham Forest squad by manager Nuno Espirito Santos. But whether Omobamidele leaves or not during this January transfer remains to be seen.
There’s reported interest from Championship hopefuls Sheffield United along with Leeds United. But neither side has yet to make a formal move, with Leeds United still waiting to make their first signing of the winter window.
Here’s all the latest on Omobamidele’s future amid links to Elland Road…

Sheffield United still interested in Andrew Omobamidele despite Tom Cannon pursuit
Sheffield United are trying to sign Tom Cannon right now, and their pursuit of the Leicester City striker has put their pursuit of a new centre-back on pause, potentially leaving Leeds in the clear to swoop for Omobamidele.
But The Star now report that Sheffield United ‘remain interested’ in the 22-year-old Forest man, but hint that Leeds United could potentially be ahead in the race with the Blades currently honed in on making a striker signing.
The same report adds ‘Omobamidele is on a long list of possible targets’ for Chris Wilder’s side, who currently sit in 3rd place of the Championship table and just one point behind Leeds in 1st.

Nottingham Forest’s Andrew Omobamidele stance is good news for Leeds United
Elsewhere, an emerging report from The Telegraph has dissected Nottingham Forest’s January transfer plans, and what might come of Omobamidele before the February 3rd transfer deadline in a couple of weeks.
John Percy writes that ‘Forest are also open to potential outgoings’ and that Omobamidele is ‘attracting interest from England and overseas’. Foreign interest in Omobamidele is not something that’s been reported as of yet.
Percy goes on to confirm that Leeds and Sheffield United remain ‘admirers’ of the centre-back, but that no move seems imminent for the defender.
Leeds though could still definitely do with a new centre-back signing given the lack of depth there, and given the previously reported Spurs interest in Pascal Struijk, which will be a concern to Farke right now.
