A deal to sign Largie Ramazani is set to be completed in the coming hours as Leeds United finally get their skates on and make some signings, but a midfielder on the Leeds list wants to join Celtic.
The Whites are looking to make four signings before the August 30 deadline and 23-year-old Ramazani looks to be the first one to arrive. Leeds are set to pay a fee of £10m to land the Belgian from Almeria.
The winger has already been spotted at Thorp Arch undergoing a medical and confirmation of a deal looks set to be announced in due course. It is unclear if he will be available to face Sheffield Wednesday.
Leeds had to register Ramazani by midday in order to do so. Focus then, switches to adding a midfielder, a full-back and a replacement for Georginio Rutter and one player on Leeds’ radar is Alvyn Sanches.
Alvyn Sanches wants to join Brendan Rodgers’ Celtic over Leeds
France-born Switzerland U21 international Sanches has emerged as an option for a number of sides in England and indeed, Scotland this summer. Celtic, Burnley, Leeds and Feyenoord are keen on Sanches.
The 21-year-old is currently playing for Swiss side Lausanne, where he has clocked up 16 goals and seven assists in 89 games. He was rated at £4m at the start of the window but will be allowed to leave for £3m.
A new update from Express reporter Charlie Gordon on Twitter states that Sanches would be keen on a move to Scottish champions Celtic. It leaves Leeds still interested, but trailing Brendan Rodgers’ side.
He said: “Alvyn Sanches would be keen to join Celtic. Lots of legwork done to convince player but no bid yet. Brendan Rodgers and Celtic scouts rate 21yo as a top talent. Burnley, Leeds among interested clubs.”

It looks more than likely that Scottish champions Celtic will strike a deal to sign Sanches before the August 30 deadline, then. Leeds are after a goalscoring midfielder and Sanches certainly fits the bill.
Leeds will of course have other options on their radar, but they have also missed out on Bobby Clark. The teenager has chosen to join Salzburg, who are managed by Jurgen Klopp’s old assistant Pep Ljinders.
Leeds have brought in Joe Rothwell on loan from Bournemouth but it is clear the Yorkshire side are keen on another before the end of the window. But it won’t be Clark, and it looks unlikely to be Sanches.
