Leeds United are seemingly in the market for another central defender before tonight’s deadline.
Right-back is very much the priority for Leeds today and it appears as though they will get their man, with a move for Burnley’s Connor Roberts now thought to be close to completion.
Burnley are themselves on the verge of bringing in a right-back of their own in Lorenz Assignon, and that looks set to be the transfer domino Leeds needed to fall into place, before they could get Roberts.
However, that does not look as though it will be the end of Leeds’ activity today, with another centre-back also on Daniel Farke’s agenda.
According to the Sheffield Star, Leeds are interested in signing Leicester City’s Harry Souttar. The report states Souttar has told his agents to stall on a move to Sheffield United because of competition from the Whites.

Souttar is currently away at the Asia Cup with Australia which could prove to be an obstacle in a deal for any club, but Sheffield United had been ‘confident of a breakthrough’ ahead of 11pm tonight.
However, that has now been thrown into doubt following interest from Leeds, which could make for an interesting race in the final 12 hours of the window.
Souttar only joined Leicester City from Stoke City in a deal worth around £15 million 12 months ago, but has barely featured under new manager Enzo Maresca since relegation.
He is not the only centre-back Leeds have been battling it out with Sheffield United for, either, with both clubs said to have made loan offers for Nottingham Forest’s Joe Worrall last night.
However, Forest were quick to reject those offers as they hold out for a permanent deal – with a valuation set at around £6 million. Ben Godfrey has also been on the agendas of the Yorkshire neighbours, too.
