Daniel Farke is under intense pressure, and there is a scenario in which Paraag Marathe decides to relieve him of his duties as Leeds United manager this week, with the 49ers considering their options.

Reports make it clear that Farke has to get a result against Chelsea or Liverpool this week if he is to stay in the hot seat at Elland Road. A tall order, but a position Farke has put himself in following previous results.

The 49ers are spoilt for choice… but who would you pick as Leeds United’s next manager?

Defeats to Burnley, Nottingham Forest, Fulham, Brighton and Aston Villa have called for Farke to get the sack. But there are positives too, especially the second-half performance against Man City on Saturday.

Regardless, Farke needs results this week and requires Elland Road to be the fortress it always is. But if he fails to do so, the 49ers will have a contingency plan and have been offered a Hungarian manager.

Jesse Marsch loves potential Daniel Farke replacement

According to reports, the RedBull team have offered Zsolt Low to Leeds United. It is unclear if Leeds are interested or considering the Hungarian, who has only ever managed on an interim basis at Leipzig.

However, his CV is sparkling. He has worked as Thomas Tuchel’s assistant at PSG, Chelsea and Bayern Munich, after working with Ralph Hasenhuttl at Leipzig. Hasenhuttl once said that Low is “fantastic”.

One of Jesse Marsch’s best moments at Leeds – and there were few – was the 3-0 win over Chelsea. A game that saw Thomas Tuchel forced to sit in the stands, and Low to run things from the dugout.

But Marsch knew all about Low, quoted in 2022 as saying: “In theory, when the managers are not there, it’s an advantage. But I also know Zsolt Low quite well, their assistant, and he’s a brilliant football mind.”

Same script. Different club. Surely, Daniel Farke’s time is up? 👇

We definitely have a chance [of survival]. It’s a long marathon. The longer we work together, the better we will be as a team. I can’t guarantee we’ll stay in the league but don’t write us off.

Daniel Farke’s best chance of getting a result against Chelsea

Despite Low’s inexperience, he is clearly well-thought of. Farke will know that the 49ers are breathing down his neck, but he has a chance to build some momentum against Chelsea after losing to City.

Jermaine Beckford hit the nail on the head. Farke has absolutely got to start with a 3-5-2 system when Leeds line-up to face Chelsea, with the system having worked so well during the late defeat at City.

Leeds need to be ugly against a Chelsea side glittering with lightweight, technical superstars. Chelsea will be without Moises Caicedo, Romeo Lavia and possibly Reece James, making their midfield vulnerable.

Chelsea expert Jack Drury told LeedsUnited.News that midfield is an area that Leeds can exploit and with the roar of Elland Road under the lights, Farke has a real chance to beat Chelsea, if he gets the XI right.
