Archie Gray is already a ‘big fan’ of manager Leeds United could get to replace Daniel Farke

There is plenty of discussion on the managerial front at Leeds right now with Daniel Farke on a run of six defeats in seven Premier League games.

Fans are growing nervous after the German took Leeds down to 18th following the 2-1 loss against Aston Villa last time out, and The 49ers also seem to be growing concerned as a shortlist of potential replacements emerges.

TalkSPORT believe Brendan Rodgers and Ange Postecoglou are being considered at Elland Road.

If the latter replaces Daniel Farke in Yorkshire, the move would presumably come with approval from Archie Gray.

Postecoglou was in charge of Tottenham when Gray moved to Spurs in a £40m switch from Leeds in July 2024, and proceeded to hand the England U21 international 46 appearances.

The Leeds academy graduate seemed to enjoy his time under the Australian. In September 2024, he said: “I’m really grateful to have the manager we’ve got. I’m a big fan of him. I’m grateful to have him here and to learn so much off him, it’s a big opportunity for me.”

The 49ers are spoilt for choice… but who would you pick as Leeds United’s next manager?

Postecoglou was ultimately sacked in June 2025 after Tottenham finished 17th last season – despite winning the UEFA Europa League – and Gray now has Thomas Frank as his manager.

Ange Postecoglou could be the man to unleash Harry Gray at Leeds United

Gray was not the only young talent Postecoglou put his faith in at Tottenham.

The 60-year-old also fielded Lucas Bergvall and Pape Sarr regularly, handing Dane Scarlett some senior opportunities too after recalling him from a loan spell at Oxford.

It suggests Postecoglou could well be the man to finally give Harry Gray a chance at Leeds, as reward for his tally of ten goals in 11 appearances for the youth side so far this season.

Daniel Farke thinks he’s the perfect manager for Harry Gray

“I don’t want to sound arrogant, but I gave Harry his debut. If I were to back a manager to be brave enough to play a young player, I’d pick me.”

Fans want to see Gray play after the entire Leeds side only scored 11 goals in 12 Premier League games altogether so far this term, so hiring Postecoglou could be the appointment which sees this wish granted.
