There have been a few surprising reports of Leeds United players linked with the exit door ahead of the January transfer window, and that even includes one of Daniel Farke’s new signings.
Jayden Bogle has been touted with a shock move to Everton and yet, the former Sheffield United man has no intention of leaving the club. Why would he, when he’s playing every minute and is loved by fans?
Should Leeds force Meslier out in order to obtain a fee in January? 💰
Daniel Farke wants to keep the Frenchman around, but the 49ers may disagree… 🤔
However, it is a different situation for some of his teammates, who are not playing as much football as he is. Illan Meslier, for example, is keen on a move to Celtic with the Frenchman out of contract next June.
Joel Piroe is said to be happy to stay put at Leeds, but the Dutchman has to be aware that he’s going to struggle to start again in the Premier League. Graham Smyth says Piroe doesn’t really fit in Farke’s side.

Sebastiaan Bornauw linked with a shock exit ahead of January
Of the 10 signings made in the summer, only one has failed to start a single Premier League game, and that is Sebastiaan Bornauw. The Belgium international has only come off the bench in two league outings.
Reports say that Bundesliga side Koln are interested in Bornauw ahead of January, ready to bring him back to German football. It seems premature, given Farke has wanted to sign Bornauw for so long.
But Bornauw could well be disillusioned at Leeds after such little game time. However, there has been a change of late, and it should convince the former Anderlecht to remain at Elland Road, just a bit longer.
This is difficult: Who is Leeds United’s best signing so far? 🤑
Explain why!
Farke’s change to a three-man defence should convince Bornauw
The 3-5-2 switch has underpinned Leeds’ return to form. It has given fans something to believe in and become the poster of a new era masterminded by the German gaffer. One to orchestrate Leeds’ survival.
Joe Rodon, Jaka Bijol, and Pascal Struijk are starting. But an injury to just one of those three, and Leeds will need Bornauw. Struijk, of course, has picked up injuries after January in the last two seasons.
Leeds may feel they could do with another centre-back in January, given the immediate lack of depth now Farke is using a 3-5-2. Bornauw will know game time is close, and Derby in the FA Cup, around the corner.
If Bornauw is willing to cling onto that in the hope of game time, then surely he will ignore the advances of Koln and any other clubs, at least until the summer window. Leeds certainly need him to.
