The 49ers are yet to sack a manager since taking over at Leeds in July 2023.

After replacing Andrea Radrizzani, they appointed Daniel Farke – a decision that eventually paid off as the German won the Championship title last season.

However, the 49-year-old has been under pressure at Elland Road for several weeks now, but in allowing him to keep his job, The 49ers are failing to deliver on a promise Angus Kinnear said they would keep.

After The 49ers took over, Kinnear told the official Leeds United website: “49ers Enterprises is bringing fresh leadership, management, and a commitment to investment, which I’m confident will meet our ambition to compete for promotion and remain in the top flight as an established Premier League Club.

“I know Paraag, Rudy and 49ers Enterprises will keep supporters central to their plans during their custodianship and I am excited to work in realising the true potential of this great club.”

However, fans have now clearly turned on Farke – chants of “you don’t know what you’re doing” could be heard ringing around Elland Road after the 2-1 defeat against Aston Villa, while cries of “make a sub” were also bellowed by supporters during the 90 minutes.

Despite this clear indication that fans have lost faith in the Leeds boss, The 49ers are yet to act.

Two days have now passed since the defeat to Aston Villa – a sixth loss in seven games for Leeds – which suggests The 49ers are insistent on keeping Farke around for the trip to Manchester City on Saturday.

Fans are therefore being ignored, which is not what Kinnear promised The 49ers would do back in 2023.

Why now is the perfect time to sack Daniel Farke

Leeds now face a daunting run of fixtures, with clashes against Manchester City, Chelsea, Liverpool, Brentford, Crystal Palace and Sunderland to come before the year ends.

Considering most of these games are seen as free hits for Leeds, it would be a wise time to hire a new manager.

Few people will judge a new boss for losing these games given the strength of the opposition, so it represents a good time to implement new tactics in matches most fans would expect Farke to lose anyway with his current approach.
