Daniel Farke’s Leeds United side are almost a fifth of the way through their fight to avoid relegation from the Premier League and as things stand, they have made a solid start in pursuit of survival.

After scoring just one goal in their first four games and losing heavily to Arsenal and then to Fulham, Farke now knows his best side and they seem capable of putting up a fight against relegation this term.

Especially, given the level of team that Leeds have faced in their first seven games. Three of the Premier League’s six Champions League clubs in Arsenal, Newcastle and Spurs. Bournemouth at home, as well.

An improved Everton, Fulham away is always tough and in the game they needed to win, they did even if they were away at Wolves. Leeds are in a solid place even if they have lost three of their seven games.

Jayden Bogle is starring despite concerns in the Premier League

When Leeds signed Jayden Bogle for £5m, many Sheffield United fans felt he struggled in the Premier League. But the right-back, at least at Leeds, has been one of Farke’s best players in the first seven games.

Graham Smyth claims the “incredible” Bogle has started better in the Premier League, than he did in the Championship at Leeds. For £5m, Bogle has been one of the bargains of Farke’s tenure since 2023.

But remarkably, Bogle is one of the lowest earners in this Leeds side. It is claimed he is earning just £30k a week, a whole lot less than some of the other players currently in the Leeds XI at the current moment.

Farke and the current Leeds structure can’t be held responsible for Jack Harrison’s enormous wages, just £10,000 shy of £100,000 a week. Harrison has warmed the bench in the Premier League this season.

Victor Orta handed Harrison that contract shortly after his failed move to Leicester in January 2023. While that is not a fair yardstick, and while Bogle does have a deal until June 2028, he deserves a pay rise.

Perhaps, on the same wage as some others currently starting week in, week out. Anton Stach is said to be earning around £45,000 a week according to Capology, Ethan Ampadu is on £40,000. Bogle deserves that.

Certainly, with England lacking in many top-quality options at full-back, Bogle’s form at Leeds is only going to earn some headlines over the next season and Leeds need to make sure his future is tied down.
