Daniel Farke and the recruitment team at Leeds United are likely to be scouring the market for a new striker after the Elland Road manager hinted at signing a new forward.

Speaking ahead of the win over Harrogate Town, Daniel Farke hinted Leeds could target a new striker. Since then, Joe Gelhardt has been loaned out to Hull City while Patrick Bamford remains out injured.

It leaves just Joel Piroe and Mateo Joseph as current options up top, if Piroe is fit again after missing the win over Harrogate due to muscle fatigue. Leeds need another striker in their push to secure promotion.

Dharmesh Sheth has intriguing update on Nottingham Forest star

Emmanuel Dennis has a contract at Forest until the summer of 2026 but has failed to play a single game for Forest this season. That is due to Nuno Espirito Santo leaving him out of his Premier League squad.

Forest boast options up top including £30m Leeds exit Chris Wood and 2023 Leeds target Taiwo Awoniyi. Sky Sports reporter Dharmesh Sheth reports that three Championship clubs are interested in Dennis.

He said: “3 Championship clubs, one from La Liga and one from Serie A are all keen to sign the player. Forest will listen to loan and permanent offers. Dennis has entered the final 18 months of his contract.”

Leeds wanted to sign Emmanuel Dennis back in summer 2023

Farke was linked with plenty of players in the summer of 2023 as Leeds were forced to conduct a bit of overhaul. But Piroe was signed from Swansea while Georginio Rutter, Bamford and Joseph played up top.

Leeds wanted Dennis and were considering an approach for him, once signed for £20m. As per PunchNG, Tom Cleverley described Dennis as “explosive” after spending time on loan at Watford next season.

Watford are likely to be one of the three Championship clubs interested in signing Dennis, and Leeds may possibly be one too given the previous interest and the need for a striker. A loan could be on the cards.
