Leeds United are preparing an offer for Nottingham Forest striker Emmanuel Dennis.
That is according to Complete Sports, who report Leeds have identified Dennis as someone who can add more firepower to their attack this season.
Forest are reportedly set to demand a ‘decent fee’ for Dennis this summer having spent £20 million to sign him from Watford almost 12 months ago.
That said, according to the Athletic, Forest are happy to let the 25-year-old leave and have already held talks with potential interested clubs, though they are yet to receive an offer.
Dennis too is said to be happy to go along with Forest’s wishes of letting him go after a difficult season at the City Ground, where he started just six Premier League matches, netting two goals.
Leeds set to launch move for Forest’s Dennis
Leeds will need to strengthen their options in attack this summer with last season’s leading marksman Rodrigo likely to depart.
Dennis could be someone who fits that bill, though he is not necessarily an out and out number nine like Leeds need, having spent a lot of his career playing off the left.
The Nigeria international has proven himself in English football, scoring 10 goals in his solitary campaign at Watford in the Premier League during the 2021/22 season.
Dennis is strong in the air, clinical in front of goal and has plenty of pace, all of which are attributes that would add significantly to Leeds’ frontline.
However, Forest will undoubtedly be keen to recoup plenty of the £20 million they paid to sign him last summer and after an indifferent season last term, there may be better value elsewhere.
