Although Leeds United conceded two soft goals, their attack came under scrutiny again after the costly Premier League defeat against Burnley.
Daniel Farke was left to rue his side’s lack of cutting edge in their visit to Turf Moor, as he was left praying that Noah Okafor will be fit to face West Ham.
Leeds did not struggle to create opportunities against their opponents, with Brenden Aaronson missing the best chance of the game in the first half, and Jayden Bogle and Lukas Nmecha also wasting good opportunities.
However, Leeds’ familiar failings in the final third resurfaced, with Dominic Calvert-Lewin cutting an increasingly isolated figure leading the attack.
Leeds missed all four of the big chances they created against Burnley, contributing to a damning statistic which shows they are currently the worst team in the Premier League.

Leeds United are the worst in the Premier League for big chances missed
The data from FotMob shows that Leeds have no issues in opening teams up, as they currently sit eighth in the competition for the most big chances created, with 17.
However, Leeds’ problems come when asked to convert those chances. After eight games, Leeds sit third in the table for the most big chances missed, with 14.
When this is converted into a conversion rate, Leeds have scored just three of their 17 big chances this season, which includes the penalty Lukas Nmecha scored against Everton, giving them a big chance conversion rate of just 17.65%.
| Rank | Team | Big Chances Created | Big Chances Missed | Conversion Rate |
| 1 | Leeds United | 17 | 14 | 17.65% |
| 2 | West Ham | 10 | 8 | 20.00% |
| 3 | Nottingham Forest | 14 | 11 | 21.43% |
| 4 | Newcastle United | 15 | 11 | 26.67% |
| 5 | Aston Villa | 11 | 8 | 27.27% |
This is the worst of any side in the top flight, with Leeds’ relegation rivals West Ham and Nottingham Forest sitting second and third, with conversion rates of 20% and 21.43% respectively.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin remains their worst offender in this area, ranking third in the league for most big chances missed, with five.
Farke spoke openly about his frustration that Leeds were unable to strengthen their attack in the final days of the transfer window. The Burnley game shows just how costly that could be at the end of the season.

Daniel Farke laments Leeds’ missed chances
Speaking to BBC West Yorkshire Sport after the game, Farke voiced his frustration at Leeds’ inability to make their big chances count in the damaging defeat against Burnley.
According to Farke, Leeds’ profligacy in front of goal meant they had to be perfect in defence, something they were unable to do at Turf Moor.
Farke said: “I think playing in front of the goals today, we should have been more focused, more concentrated.
“It felt like whenever we had one of those big chances, we were always a bit surprised in the situation and not with a clinical finish.
“If you allow yourself to miss so many clear chances, then you have to be perfect in terms of defending.”
