It will not come as a surprise to footballing fans that Chelsea are looking to sell a number of players this summer and one set to leave could be the perfect midfield signing at Leeds United.

Chelsea’s constant spending, the latest of which is the signing of Pedro Neto from Gary O’Neil’s Wolves for a fee believed to be in the region of £54m, means they will now need to sell to comply with rules.

England U21 defender Bashir Humphreys is one Chelsea player on the Elland Road shortlist, with Leeds said to have made a bid for Humphreys. But he is only one of a long list of players set to leave Chelsea.

Leeds are in the market for a left-sided defender, a goalscoring midfielder and a replacement for Dutch ace Crysencio Summerville after the pocket-sized star completed a move to Julen Lopetegui’s West Ham.

Chelsea willing to get rid of £12m midfielder, ideal for Leeds

Last season, Chelsea’s £12m signing Cesare Casadei went on loan to Enzo Maresca’s Leicester and he showed glimpses of quality. The Italian was only used him sparingly, playing 25 times in league and cup.

It might have been a bit of a frustration for Casadei to see the man to replace Mauricio Pochettino at Chelsea this summer was Maresca. Now, GOAL say Casadei is on the list of players Chelsea want to sell.

A midfielder that gets forward from deep and showed last season he can contribute in attack with his five goa;ls and assists for Leicester, Casadei is just the type of midfielder that Leeds are looking to sign.

Wilfried Gnonto knows Cesare Casadei very well after Inter days

The duo came through the academy together at Inter and of course, both featured in Italy’s U16, U17, U18, U19 and U21 squads together. The duo have shared the pitch on a huge 42 occasions throughout.

Casadei then, is a player with huge quality and potential. A player that knows the Championship and has shown he can score at Championship level, and has a strong connection with another key Leeds player.

He suits what Leeds are after and is available as Chelsea try to raise some much-needed funds. Bought for £12m but with Chelsea ready to offload him, perhaps Leeds could get Casadei for less than £8m.
