Leeds fans know there is not much of a transfer budget for Daniel Farke this winter.
After spending roughly £100m during the summer, Robbie Evans admitted that Leeds had spent all they could before entering a territory where they risk breaching financial rules.
Should Leeds follow Nottingham Forest’s path and risk a points deduction? 💸
It has led to a situation where loan deals are said to be the most likely way the 49ers can bolster the squad for Daniel Farke – according to The Athletic.
Loan deals will only require Leeds to pay a portion of a salary and a potential loan fee, but if the Whites can beat Derby in the FA Cup on 11th January, some financial help will arrive.
How much Leeds United can make in prize money from the FA if Daniel Farke defeats Derby
Leeds can secure a welcome £121,500 chunk of prize money if they overcome Derby in the FA Cup third round.
Of course, in the context of modern football, that is not a large amount of cash whatsoever.
However, in the context of the current financial situation at Leeds, it could go a long way in terms of getting a loan deal over the line. The 49ers can use that potential £121,500 prize to put towards paying a loan fee or to contribute towards the salary of a loanee.
Of course, it could also be used to make a permanent signing, but it would take some effort to find someone capable of making an instant impact in the Premier League for just over £100,000.

Winning the FA Cup third round clash would also set Leeds up to compete for a further £127,000 – should they reign supreme in the fourth round.
As aforesaid, these are not life changing amounts of cash for Leeds, but given the PSR issues, it could create some breathing room and help the 49ers stretch their limited funds further.
Two likely sales for Leeds United which will also help facilitate incomings
The main way Leeds are going to be able to afford incomings in January is by making sales, and there are a couple of potential departures.
Joel Piroe could be offloaded after being handed just two Premier League starts this season.

The likes of Joel Piroe and Willy Gnonto are struggling to force their way into Farke's plans.
The Dutchman is arguably the most saleable asset of any fringe player at Leeds, and is hot property for Championship clubs after winning the Golden Boot last term.
Sebastiaan Bornauw could also leave as his former side FC Koln monitor the Belgian, who Farke has given just two minutes of action in the Premier League.
Furthermore, while not exactly a sale, Leeds could make Illan Meslier a free agent six months ahead of schedule by terminating his contract, which would free up a weekly salary of £30,000 to spend on someone else.
