The idea in this transfer window for the 49ers is to try to find bargain deals and look to make cut-price signings.
By doing this, it can keep their funds sustainable, and PSR won’t prove to be a problem with their potential for Leeds to match Newcastle United’s finances.
But what it all comes down to this summer is the signings Leeds make.
And one player they’re linked with had a nightmare at Elland Road earlier this campaign.
Leeds United target Shea Charles had a nightmare showing at Elland Road
As mentioned, inexperienced players might have to be on the radar for the 49ers as 21-year-old Shea Charles is of interest to Leeds.
This comes after a brilliant season in the second tier, even getting nominated for Young Player of The Season after performances for Sheffield Wednesday.
But now back at parent club Southampton, the Whites are looking to pinch the promising starlet.
Ethan Ampadu might be worried as Charles has shown he can flourish in a full season in his position at such a young age, but there is also a worry in Leeds’ camp, no doubt.
This is due to Charles’ performance against the Whites back in January, with Leeds dominating Wednesday 3-0 and Charles learning a harsh lesson.

Daniel Farke might think twice about Charles after taking this account, as it was no doubt a disaster day for the young midfielder.

Charles’ display vs Leeds shouldn’t define Farke’s decision
It’s clear that when Charles met Ao Tanaka and Joe Rothwell, he was no match, and this brings reason why Declan Rice praised Tanaka so highly.
But Charles did finish the season strong, and that one game shouldn’t be the be-all and end-all.
To be nominated for the Young Player of the Year isn’t an easy feat, and had Jobe Bellingham not had an excellent season for Sunderland, Charles could’ve easily scooped the award.
The only problem for Leeds will most likely be Charles’ transfer fee after Southampton paid £15m for the 21-year-old’s arrival.
Nevertheless, he had a rough day in Yorkshire, but now Leeds can be the making of him.
