As far as crunch matches go, Leeds United against Burnley on Monday is almost as big as it gets. A win for the Clarets will bring them level on points with the Whites in 1st.
Friday night saw Sheffield United lose 3-0 at home to Hull City. It’s a defeat that gives both Leeds United and Burnley the chance to make some ground in the race for Championship promotion, with Leeds currently in 1st and Burnley in 3rd.
Only three points separate the two teams ahead of their meeting at Turf Moor on Monday night, and both sides go into the game in decent form, Burnley in particular.
The Clarets are on a staggering 16 game unbeaten run in all competitions with Scott Parker’s side thrashing Plymouth Argyle away from home in their last outing. Leeds beat Norwich City 2-0 in midweek to go 11 games unbeaten in all competitions.

Leeds United aren’t doing too badly on the injury front right now with Pascal Struijk and Patrick Bamford being their only two absentees for the game against Burnley.
Struijk will return to Leeds training at the end of the month after a scan showed that he hadn’t damaged his tendon, as was feared, in what will be a huge relief for Daniel Farke.
Patrick Bamford remains sidelined with a hamstring injury and his potential return date remains unclear.

Leeds United predicted lineup vs Burnley, will Daniel Farke drop Joel Piroe?
Joel Piroe is often a talking point among Leeds United fans. Despite being the Whites’ leading scorer in the Championship this season with 10 goals, and an impressive five assists, he just doesn’t seem to suit the style of play that well.
Against a Burnley side who’ll pass out from the back, Farke might opt for the more robust and mobile Mateo Joseph from the off, with this game possibly one where Piroe is more impactful off the bench.
Elsewhere, we could expect an unchanged lineup from the side that beat Norwich City. Ethan Ampadu will no doubt continue at centre-back with Struijk injured.
Junior Firpo is steadily playing his way back to starting fitness, though expect Sam Byram to be preferred for this one.
