Glen Kamara’s representatives are pushing hard to secure a transfer this summer amid interest from Leeds United.
That is according to journalist Dean Jones, who provided the update to Give Me Sport, where he also claimed Leeds have stepped up their efforts to sign him.
Kamara has been linked with a move to Elland Road throughout the summer but speculation has really intensified this week following Tyler Adams‘ move to Bournemouth.
As per the Scottish Sun, a deal is now at an advanced stage between the two clubs and a fee of around £5.5 million could be enough to get the deal done.
It was also reported by The Fourth Official on Friday that Kamara is expected to seal a move away from Rangers this week, with Leeds seemingly the side in strongest.
Kamara’s representatives ‘working hard’ to seal transfer
With all that in mind, transfer insider Jones says Kamara’s agent is now pushing strongly to finalise a transfer with Leeds having stepped up their interest.
He said: “I think Glen Kamara is an interesting one, too. I have heard that Leeds United’s enquiries are being stepped up around that one. So, there is some promise there. His representatives are working hard to find him a solution.
“He’s been talked about for a long time to leave Rangers, but it’s just never come about. I think the Championship would be a really good place for Kamara if he’s willing to take that step. He would do well in that league and at Leeds, I think he could become a very important part of what Daniel Farke is trying to do.”
This has been an extremely strange transfer saga as Kamara has been there and ready to do for the entirety of the window.
Kamara has been frozen out at Rangers and the asking price appears to have remained the same throughout the summer, yet still he remains at Ibrox.
With eight days left of the window, it is still certainly one to keep an eye on.
