Leeds United are now in advanced talks over the signing of Rangers midfielder Glen Kamara.

That is according to the Scottish Sun, who report Leeds are now finally closing in on a £5.5 million deal for Kamara after several weeks of speculation.

It is said that Leeds have stepped up their efforts in the last 24 hours to complete a deal for the 27-year-old, who has also held talks with Coventry City and Middlesbrough in the last few days.

Leeds’ need for a new central midfielder has intensified since the weekend after Tyler Adams’ £23 million + add-ons move to Bournemouth was confirmed on Sunday.

Kamara is a player who has been linked with Leeds throughout the summer and it now finally appears as though they will be getting their man.

As mentioedn, Kamara is a player who has been on Leeds’ radar throughout the window and according to The Fourth Official, a deal was on the verge of completion back in July.

It has not quite progressed as quickly as that but the same outlet did also indicate on Friday that Kamara would be finalising his Rangers exit this week.

Kamara is not in manager Michael Beale’s plans and has been training away from the rest of the first team squad in order to push through a move away.

As per the Yorkshire Evening PostLeeds reignited their interest last week and it now appears as though he could be the first through the door this week.

Kamara would become Leeds’ fifth signing of the summer following the additions of Ethan Ampadu, Karl Darlow, Sam Byram and Joe Rodon.
