Leeds United may be forced to deal with one of Wolverhampton Wanderers’ main threats this weekend after Vitor Pereira provided a positive fitness update.

Both Leeds and Wolves have struggled for goals at the start of the new Premier League season, with just three between them in eight games.

However, whilst Leeds have been able to cobble together four points from their four games, Wolves are bottom of the table with no points from their opening four games.

Leeds could welcome back both Ao Tanaka and Joel Piroe for the relegation battle, although Farke is sweating over the fitness of Daniel James and Willy Gnonto ahead of the game.

Wolves were also sweating over the fitness of key man Jorgen Strand Larsen ahead of the game. Now, it appears that he will be available to play some part in the game in a blow to the Whites.

Jorgen Strand Larsen could feature for Wolves vs Leeds United

Speaking in his weekly press conference ahead of the game against Leeds, Wolves manager Vitor Pereira confirmed that he expects his star striker to play some part against the Whites.

Strand Larsen missed Wolves’ game against Newcastle through injury, but he could feature from the bench as the home side look to claim their first points of the season.

Asked about Strand Larsen’s hopes of playing, Pereira said: “[He’s had] just one training session with the team.

“I hope tomorrow he can help us… not for 90 minutes, but for some period in the game. This is the information I have from the medical department.”

Leeds United will have to face physical threat from Tolu Arokodare

Following Pereira’s assertion that Strand Larsen will not be ready to play the full 90 minutes against Leeds, the Norwegian is expected to start the game on the bench.

As a result, the Wolves boss is likely to turn to powerhouse forward Tolu Arokodare to lead the line against Leeds, having made his debut for the club in the defeat against Newcastle.

Arokodare joined Wolves from Genk, having scored 23 goals in 45 games in all competitions for the Belgian side.

He is a massive physical presence, standing at six feet and six inches tall (1.97 metres) and weighing approximately 100 kg. As a result, Leeds’ centre back pairing of Pascal Struijk and Joe Rodon can expect a difficult afternoon against the Nigerian powerhouse.
