Wilfried Gnonto could now be set for a quick resolution to his Leeds United future after being knocked out of the U21s EUROs with Italy.
Gnonto’s agent Claudio Vigorelli was addressing his client’s future to Calcio Mercato earlier this week, where he claimed he would not be focusing on any transfer speculation until his involvement with Italy U21s was over.
However, like his close friend Crysencio Summerville, Gnonto has headed for an early exit door from the competition after a shock 1-0 defeat to Norway last night.
Italy finished level on three points with both Switzerland and Norway in Group D, but ended in third place due to an inferior head-to-head record.
Switzerland, who finished on the worst goal difference out of all three teams after a 4-1 defeat to France, progressed to the knockout stages ahead of Gnonto’s Italy and Leo Hjelde’s/Kristoffer Klaesson’s Norway.

Gnonto is not expected to return for pre-season until July 10, which will be alongside the rest of the internationals, with the first group set to comeback on July 2.
However, with both of his international duties now behind him, his focus will now very much be on his future, with a host of clubs having been linked.
According to the Yorkshire Evening Post, Leeds are yet to receive any interest or offers for Gnonto, but reports from Italy have claimed different.
Gnonto’s agent hinted the 19-year-old would like to continue playing at the top level, though San Francisco 49ers Enterprises have earmarked him as a key player they want to build their promotion push around.
He also still has four years left remaining on his current deal, and no reported release clause, putting Leeds in a decent position to keep him at Elland Road.
