Manor Solomon has endured a bit of a sticky spell of form for Leeds United of late, so Daniel Farke will have been delighted to see the winger create Israel’s winner against Estonia on Saturday.
Expected to win with relative ease, Israel made hard work of it after former Tottenham defender Maksim Paskotsi gave Estonia the lead. Israel got back into the game on 23 minutes, thanks to an own goal.
But it took Israel until the 75th minute to finally score a winner as they struggled to convert their many chances on the night. However, it was Manor Solomon that provided the difference to create a winner.
Picking up the ball just inside Estonia’s half, Solomon cut inside and sprayed a gorgeous 30-yard pass to the other wing for Eli Dasa to run through on goal and finish well. A big goal, with Israel expected to win.

Israeli media discuss Manor Solomon’s performance on Saturday
Solomon has not been as good as he has been in a Leeds shirt in the last few weeks. While he may feel somewhat unlucky, Solomon has now gone six Leeds games without a goal or assist for Daniel Farke.
He should have got an assist against Portsmouth but Joel Piroe blazed over the bar, and he may feel it was his assist for QPR’s own goal last time out. But he changed the game on Saturday for his country.
But that was only after missing golden chance himself. Sport 5 described Solomon’s performance as both “terrible” and “brilliant” fueled by “maximum desire”, while handing the Leeds star a rating of 6.5/10.
“The star of the team will also testify that on other days he would have finished the evening with at least one goal. Maximum investment, desire in the sky, a terrible miss and a brilliant pass to Dasa,” they said.

Leeds United players thriving on National Team duty in last week
Solomon’s match-winning moment comes after Sam Chambers scored for Scotland’s U19 side, while Mateo Joseph netted a sixth goal of the season for Spain’s U21’s. Dan James got one for Wales last night.
He might be about to leave Leeds but Rasmus Kristensen helped Denmark secure a famous win by not giving Kylian Mbappe a chance to shine, while full-back Isaac Schmidt made his debut for Switzerland.
Ao Tanaka helped Japan become the first team to qualify for the World Cup. Huge positives for Leeds so far during the break, but Wilfried Gnonto has picked up an injury while in action for Italy’s U21 side.
