Leeds United currently have 16 players on National Team duty including those out on loan, and two of them were in action on Wednesday night – with one even scoring for his country.

The Whites have players in action all over the world over the next week, with Junior Firpo and Ao Tanaka even leaving Europe to play for their countries. Daniel Farke will be hoping none of his players get injured.

Indeed, while the international break has only just begun, Leeds are just nine days away from the start of the eight-game run-in. A promotion battle that Sheffield United boss Chris Wilder said will be “titanic”.

But for now, those that are on international duty will have shifted their focus from club duty and Sam Chambers took full advantage on Wednesday as he represented Scotland’s U19 side against Sweden.

Sam Chambers scores first goal for Scotland’s U19 side

It has been a brilliant season for Chambers and in fact, the last few weeks have been excellent for the attacker. Having made his debut and earned a first senior start, Chambers won a new Leeds contract.

Chambers went into the break having already earned three caps for Scotland’s U19 side, earning his fourth in a friendly against Sweden on Wednesday and Chambers netted in a 1-1 draw, out in Spain.

The season just keeps getting better for Chambers, a player Daniel Farke said he has faith in to go and play for the first team even in the Premier League. A good week after an excellent season for Chambers.

Charlie Crew holds his own for Wales in defeat to England

On loan at League Two side Doncaster Rovers, Crew is maturing as a central midfielder after making his debut for Leeds earlier in the season. The same game in which Chambers also made his Leeds debut.

Already a full Wales international, Crew captained Wales’ U19 side on Wednesday evening against the England’s U19 outfit. A side studded with talent and ultimately it proved too much for Crew’s Wales.

Crew lasted 85 minutes as he faced Newcastle United’s Lewis Miley in midfield, in Euro U19 qualifying. Goals from Man United’s Ethan Wheatley and Chelsea’s Shumaira Mhueka got the job done for England.
