Chris Wilder and Daniel Farke seem to have plenty of respect for eachother despite Leeds United and Sheffield United having the complete opposite.

Two managers who make the Championship what it is, as it would be brilliant for the Premier League to see Leeds and the Blades return.

Well, the Whites took a major step into doing that after Leeds beat Sheffield 3-1.

Wilder admitted Leeds have the edge over Sheffield as despite the rivalry, the respect the former Watford and Middlesbrough boss has for Farke’s side is huge.

This was proven, as after the game, Wilder did something in the Bramall Lane tunnel which Farke loved.

Normally after losing to one of your rivals, you don’t plan on sticking around, but that sums up what kind of character Wilder is.

He has his moments, as Wilder’s accused of ‘mind games’ by Leeds fans but he can be a class act.

This was shown after the game, as Farke explained why the Blades boss decided to wait for the German even after a crushing defeat.

“Chris waited in the tunnel to congratulate every one of my members of staff,” Farke said in the post-match press conference.

“Top quality person and the best manager Sheffield United could have at the moment.”

Wilder would be a good addition in the Premier League for Leeds

This is a bold statement, but it has an explanation behind it.

Sheffield United and Leeds fans have been going at it all season and that mostly stems from Wilder’s comments on Leeds.

Wilder doesn’t think Leeds have won the title and he’s not wrong with 12 games left in the season, but some Whites fans might want the Blades to join them in the Premier League.

Competition is healthy and the two sides should give credit to eachother for pushing for promotion, and this can also help both retain a Premier League spot next season.

Of course, a large majority would love to see Wilder stay in the Championship, but the rivalry only makes Leeds better.
