Leeds United News have received information on what lies ahead should Daniel Farke fail to beat West Ham on Friday.

The German has overseen a steady but unspectacular start to the 2025/26 campaign, as Leeds sit 16th in the Premier League following two wins, two draws and four defeats from eight games so far.

We understand Leeds are content with the current situation at Elland Road, although sources stress to Leeds United News that Daniel Farke will find himself under pressure if West Ham win on Friday night.

Sources: Defeat to West Ham will put pressure on Daniel Farke

Graeme Bailey – Chief Correspondent for Leeds United News – has been informed that Leeds are currently backing the man born in Steinhausen, a stance they have reiterated since the summer.

Farke could – however – be judged on how much Sunderland and Brentford defy the odds.

Bailey said: “Leeds are just playing their cards close to their chest, in that they insist they are backing him – which they have done from the summer.

“The way it’s being described to me is, they’re doing okay. They’ve got points in some places where they shouldn’t have but they’ve dropped some points like last week. They’re slightly ahead of where they want to be, but Sunderland and Brentford’s form causes a few issues.

“If Leeds lose on Friday, I think the pressure will be on Farke massively. Then, we’ll soon find out If Marathe has learned from the Rangers situation.”

West Ham can only boast one win from eight Premier League outings so far this season, so it would rightly be a concern if the Hammers emerge victorious from Elland Road on Friday night.

Leeds United News also understand Farke could be given some loan signings this winter if he makes it to the mid-season transfer window.

Daniel Farke has already experienced this situation

Farke – who hopes to leave Leeds in good shape whenever he does depart – is all too aware of the uncertainty managers face around this time of year.

The 48-year-old was dismissed by Norwich back in November 2021 having accumulated just five points from the opening 11 games of that 2021/22 campaign.

At the time, Farke seemingly had no idea his P45 was on its way having just defeated Brentford 2-1 earlier that same day, as he said: “We definitely have a chance (of survival).

“The longer we work together, the better we will be as a team. I can’t guarantee we’ll stay in the league but don’t write us off.”

Therefore, Farke will know better than anybody that a loss to West Ham could have repercussions.
