Leeds United are currently in their worst run of form of the season.
Even when Daniel Farke was struggling to name a bench and had players refusing to be in the squad during the first five matches, Leeds still picked up more points than they have in the last five.
Leeds have lost their last three games away from home and it would appear sides have worked out how to play against Farke’s side, by sitting deep and absorbing up pressure.
And while Farke is clearly struggling to find the answers to those questions, there is one aspect of his management that he is getting badly wrong at the moment.
Unfortunately, that is his use of substitutions. Aside from the win at Norwich City in October, it is almost impossible to think of a game where a change from the bench has had any sort of impact.
Farke needs to sort out his use of subs
The away win at Norwich City was the first time he opted to go with a one man midfield and throw on a host of attackers at the same time. At 2-1 down in that game, Willy Gnonto, Crysencio Summerville, Patrick Bamford, Joel Piroe, Georginio Rutter and Dan James were all on the pitch at the same time.
While it worked that day, it has not since. Norwich are one of the only sides in this division who are prepared to open up against Leeds, and therefore the sheer number of attackers against their defence, worked.

However, when teams like Sunderland, Stoke City and West Brom are happy to sit in, losing the entire structure of the team just to stick on extra attackers just has not worked.
In the final half hour at the Hawthorns, Leeds played with no full-backs, one central midfielder, three wingers and three strikers, yet they didn’t create a single good chance.
Farke needs to come up with a cleverer away to break down deep defensive lines than just chucking on every attacker he has at his disposal. It is worrying just how poor Leeds look in the final third considering the current set of options.
