What Daniel Farke has already told Leeds before becoming their manager

Daniel Farke has already held conversations with Leeds United regarding their summer transfer activity.

That is according to the Athletic, who report Farke has participated in discussions about what changes should be made to the squad, despite not having officially been named as the club’s manager yet.

Farke is expected to be appointed at Leeds today regardless of whether San Francisco 49ers Enterprises receive official approval from the EFL on their takeover.

Leeds had been hoping to confirm Farke after ratification had arrived but with training due to start tomorrow, are expected to disregard that plan.

The 46-year-old has been the leading contender for the role for almost two weeks after the final face-to-face interviews were held in London last week.

As per this report, it is clear Farke has been having a say on all matters at Leeds for the last week or so even if an official announcement has not arrived.

That should hopefully mean once he is through the door, and the takeover is all confirmed, signings should start to arrive at a decent rate, a bit like at Leicester City.

In fact, last week’s links to Nat Phillips are perhaps an indication he has already earmarked a list of targets, having been keen to sign him previously at Norwich City.

This sort of news should slightly allay supporters’ fears that Leeds are heading into the new season disorganised and unprepared, as it is now clear a lot of work has been done behind-the-scenes.

This week really does feel as though it is the start of what will be a busy summer.
