Leeds United could now announce the appointment of their new manager before the EFL officially ratifies San Francisco 49ers Enterprises’ takeover.
That is according to the Guardian, who report Daniel Farke has indeed agreed a deal to take charge at Elland Road with the club hopeful he will be in place for the start of pre-season on Monday.
Leeds wrapped up the process of choosing their next manager last week after holding final face-to-face interviews in London with their favoured candidates.
Farke has been reported as Leeds’ chosen one throughout the last few days but the club are still yet to officially announce his arrival, despite having reached an agreement with the club.
49ers had hoped the EFL would approve their buyout of the Whites this week which would’ve swiftly led to confirmation of Farke’s appointment, but that has not been the case.
Leeds could appoint Farke before EFL approval
With pre-season starting at the beginning of next week, Leeds are eager to have their new man in place so he is ready to hit the ground running immediately.
They had been looking to wait, though, until the EFL provided approval of the takeover, but with that still not having arrived, there is seemingly a serious chance they will change their stance.
That would mean a weekend announcement for Leeds with pre-season set to start on Monday, which would feel like a weight off the club’s shoulders.
Frustrations have been growing over the lack of official confirmation on a manager, with it seemingly slowing down other important aspects of the summer like incoming transfers.
However, it finally feels as though it is a saga that is reaching its head and hopefully now an announcement is not far away.
