Report: Leeds closing in on announcement as 46-year-old agrees terms to become next manager

Leeds United are poised to confirm the appointment of Daniel Farke as their new manager.

That is according to the Daily Mail, who report Farke has now agreed terms with Leeds ahead of becoming their next boss, with the club hopeful of having him in place before the start of pre-season on July 2.

It is also said that Farke has already been shown around Thorp Arch but Leeds are holding off from an official announcement until San Francisco 49ers Enterprises receive EFL approval.

Leeds remain confident that will arrive in the coming days, but at the same time, are also keen on having Farke through the door when testing begins at the start of next month.

Farke has been out of work since leaving Borussia Monchengladbach last month and emerged as Leeds’ leading contender at the end of last week.

Farke agrees terms with Leeds

Leeds held the finishing touches of their process last week by conducting face-to-face interviews in London with the remaining candidates in London.

Paraag Marathe and Angus Kinnear have been the two men spearheading the search, and appear to have landed on Farke ahead of numerous other contenders.

Patrick Vieira and Scott Parker were among the others on the shortlist, with the former now in pole position to take over at Strasbourg in France, indicating he knows his chances of becoming next Leeds boss are over.

Farke has twice won promotion with Norwich City from the Championship, lifting the title on each occasion with an attractive style of play.

He will be tasked with doing the same at Leeds following the club’s relegation from the Premier League last season.
