The Champions League was in full flow on Wednesday night. There was some upsets and some screamers scored, with a rumoured Leeds United target arguably scoring the goal of the night.

Daniel Farke may have had his telly tuned into the Champions League on Wednesday night, perhaps looking for inspiration as he vies to get Leeds United out of the Championship and into the big time.

Right now, the going is good. Leeds drew with Burnley in a promotion crunch match on Monday, keeping the Whites in 1st place of the Championship table for the time being.

But those around Leeds are making some impressive signings in the transfer market. Meanwhile, Leeds United are yet to sign anyone in 2025 and some fans are starting to get really concerned about the lack of movement in the transfer market.

Several players are linked, mainly attackers, with Leeds United now interested in Adam Daghim at fellow RedBull side Salzburg.

Leeds United target Adam Daghim scores screamer vs Atletico Madrid

Daghim and his Salzburg side were in action at home to Spanish giants Atletico Madrid in the Champions League on Wednesday night. But it was another heavy defeat in the competition for Austrian outfit Salzburg who lost 4-1.

Antoine Griezmann scored a brace as Atletico ran out 4-1 winners on the night. And it would’ve been a whitewash for Diego Simeone’s side, but for Daghim scoring an injury time belter.

The 19-year-old Dane scored a thunderous half-volley from the edge of the box, which you can watch below…

Adam Daghim turned into his idol Erling Haaland vs Atletico Madrid

Speaking back in 2024 after signing a new deal with Salzburg, Daghim spoke about his footballing idols, naming Neymar as one, but Manchester City’s Leeds-born striker Erling Haaland as his main idol.

Daghim said: “I really like Neymar, and Erling Haaland is my big idol. He scores loads of goals, and you can’t do the job any better than he does.”

His goal against Atletico certainly had shades of both Neymar and Haaland: the technique of Neymar and the power of Haaland.

For Leeds, it looks like it’d be a great signing with Daghim clearly a player with potential. Not only that, but at 19 he’s already shown he has nerve and composure, scoring goals like this in the Champions League.

It’s another ambitious link for Leeds and possibly one that’s more realistic come the summer. Leeds would surely need promotion to make this move happen.
