The Championship sits at the 40-game mark with England’s second tier preparing for another round of fixtures on Tuesday and Wednesday night, and Leeds United are now sitting in third.
Saturday’s 1-1 draw at Luton Town saw Leeds arguably have the better of the chances but did not play well and probably did not deserve to win. It leaves Daniel Farke’s side with just one win in six matches.
Three consecutive draws have seen Leeds surrender a five-point lead at the top and now sit two points behind leaders Burnley. Thankfully for Leeds, Sheffield United suffered a shock defeat to Oxford United.
So, with six games to go, the race for promotion is as alive as ever. Burnley are in stunning form while Sheffield United are second but they have to play each other, which Gary Lineker says can help Leeds.

Troy Deeney says which team will finish first in the Championship
Burnley have now remained unbeaten for the last 26 Championship games, losing back on November 3 and they are showing no signs of slowing down. Just 12 goals conceded throughout the entire campaign.
Speaking to TalkSPORT on Monday morning (April 7, 6.50AM), Championship icon Troy Deeney gave his verdict. He discussed Leeds’ blip before naming which of the three sides are his “favourites” right now.
“It’s just not a good time of the year to go on this blip, is it? I feel that Leeds are normally better chasing; whenever they go in front, they just seem not to get over the line. Really disappointing result at Luton.
“Burnley are the team you’ve just got to avoid at all costs, they are just a well-oiled machine. They don’t allow in a lot of goals, now they’ve started to score loads of goals as well. Burnley are my favourites.”

Daniel Farke’s record against Boro and their injury concerns
Middlesbrough up next for Leeds, who have won five of their last seven games and look a certainty to go and achieve a play-off position. The Whites though, will be confident due to a couple of factors.
The first being Farke’s record against the Teesside club. Eight wins, one draw, one loss in 10 career games against Boro as a manager with the only defeat coming in the Carabao Cup this season, back in August.
If history is to repeat itself, Leeds should go and get themselves three points on Teesside. Also, Boro are without six senior players and three more are doubts – with Luke Ayling set to miss Tuesday night’s clash.
