Leeds United and Leicester City are set to go head-to-head on Friday night in arguably the biggest game of the Championship season.
The Whites know a ninth consecutive league win could drag Leicester right back into the race to finish in the top two, with the Foxes currently boasting a nine-point advantage ahead of the game.
Leicester have been the pace setters of the division for the entirety of the season but Leeds’ run of eight wins in a row has propelled them well into the mix. That said, only a win would keep them in touch with the Foxes, which should make for a brilliant game.
And in his pre-match press conference, Daniel Farke has now given his verdict on who he thinks is the better side, but as expected, was pretty reserved in his comments.
Farke wades in on Leeds vs Leicester debate
He said: “The team who wins the title is the best and most consistent. At the moment you have to say credit to Leicester, otherwise they wouldn’t be in position one. I know we had a bit difficult start, and since this we have collected even more points than them and closed this point gap.”
Both sides certainly have different strengths in how they play which should make for another enthralling match-up, just like in the fixture back in November.
Leicester are extremely good at keeping possession and sustaining pressure, while Foxes boss Maresca has already claimed Leeds are the best in the division at counter-attacks.
All four sides are setting a standard at the top of the Championship that has never been seen before, but in fairness to Leicester, it is them who have been a cut above so far.
That said, if Leeds were to complete a league double over Leicester on Friday, it would certainly enhance their chances of actually finishing in top spot.
