The prospects of Leeds United signing Newcastle United’s Karl Darlow, or Bayern Munich back-up Alexander Nubel looks unlikely according to new reports this week – so, here are three Premier League goalkeepers we could turn to.
The Northern Echo say Bournemouth are set to move for 32-year-old Darlow. Meanwhile, Bild say Leeds are willing to pay £8.7m for Nubel and while Bayern want a permanent exit, Nubel wants a loan move to Stuttgart. Alternatives?

Matija Sarkic (Wolves)
Mike McGrath of the Telegraph reported this week that Stoke had agreed a deal – only for it to fall through. Indeed, the Montenegro international spent the second half of 22-23 on loan at Stoke. He kept three clean sheets in eight.
A bargain fee of £1.25m was on the table for Sarkic, 25, who has a Leeds connection. His brother Oliver played for Leeds – albeit, for the 21’s. He was on the books with us for two years, until 2019. His older brother is a solid signing.
Marek Rodak (Fulham)
Rodak is a goalkeeper that has been linked with Leeds. He has spent four years at Fulham. First choice in the two seasons in which Fulham were promoted. Fulham were relegated in his second year from the top tier, in 2020-21.
He was made second choice. Relegation saw him first choice again. Promotion saw Fulham sign Bernd Leno. He remains back-up. FLW say Leeds have considered signing the 19-time Slovakia star. A two-time promotion winner.
Mark Travers (Bournemouth)
So, with Darlow likely to be signing for Bournemouth this summer, why not go for the goalkeeper he could replace? Brazil stopper Neto was first choice at the Vitality last season, even wearing the captain’s armband on occasion.
Darlow would compete with Neto, but likely be second choice. Travers, 24, would be third choice – which is harsh on him. During Bournemouth’s promotion in 21-22, he kept 20 clean sheets, playing all 46 league games. No-brainer.
