Bournemouth are set to beat Leeds United in the race to sign Newcastle United goalkeeper Karl Darlow.
That is according to the Northern Echo, who report Bournemouth’s move for Darlow is now at an advanced stage with a transfer potentially set to be wrapped up in the coming days.
The Cherries held talks with Darlow’s agent yesterday and it appears as though that has moved them close to an agreement, with Andoni Iraola’s side now ‘firm favourites’ for his signature.
Darlow has flown to the US alongside the rest of his Newcastle teammates but could now be given permission to return home and seal his transfer.
It is said that Leeds do remain interested in a move for Darlow but their chances are now looking bleak with a move to Bournemouth now set to be completed.

Darlow was among Leeds’ top two targets to strengthen between the sticks, in what is now a priority position for them after completing Ethan Ampadu’s signing yesterday.
However, it now appears as though they will have to turn their attention elsewhere with Darlow keen on remaining in the Premier League with Bournemouth.
Leeds’ other top reported target is Bayern Munich’s Alexander Nubel, but that is another deal where they also face top-flight competition.
Stuttgart are believed to be leading the race for Nubel after submitting a second loan offer to Bayern yesterday, with his preference to remain in the Bundesliga.
However, Leeds will be hoping their willingness to meet Bayern’s permanent asking price could shift the balance in their favour.
