In the eyes of many, it is imperative that Leeds United sign a new goalkeeper this summer to replace Illan Meslier.
The Frenchman is out of contract next summer, and a parting of ways perhaps makes sense at this stage of his Leeds United career after being usurped by Karl Darlow.
Phil Hay thinks Meslier is done at Leeds and an exit is inevitable. Now, with the search on for a new number one, Daniel Peretz has emerged on Leeds’ radar.
Peretz is in talks with Leeds, and Thomas Tuchel has given his thoughts on the Israeli goalkeeper in the past as to what his level is.

Leeds fans want Caoimhin Kelleher instead of Daniel Peretz
He is a teammate of Manor Solomon’s and a 24-year-old with a bright future. However, he is not featuring regularly for Bayern Munich and his availability looks to have alerted Leeds.
A number of Leeds fans are not too keen to bring him in this summer since the emergence of the links, given the other options available in the market, including Liverpool’s Caoimhin Kelleher. One said: “No, kelleher Should be our First choice.”
Another added: “No thanks. I’m sure he’s said he wants to be Bayern munich #1, would rather want someone who wants to be here for the Leeds United project 👍”
Some were fairly simple yet emphatic with their responses: “We need kelleher!!”
Peretz is one of eight goalkeepers Leeds have been linked with but Kelleher is another of those reportedly being weighed up.

Liverpool’s asking price for Kelleher is likely to put Leeds off
Throughout the 2024/25 season it was reported that Leeds were interested in signing Kelleher. However, Brentford’s Kelleher interest is strong of late.
Either way, he is expected to leave. Speaking recently, Kelleher said he’s ready to have a fresh start away from Liverpool and to get regular first-team football.
Previously, we exclusively revealed that Leeds enquired about signing Kelleher this summer. But Liverpool are understood to be asking for around £30 million for the Republic of Ireland international.
That may be beyond the portion of budget Leeds are willing to put aside for one position, but it is critical they make themselves much better in both boxes if they are to survive.
