Willy Gnonto’s future remains up in the air ahead of the January window and now, The 49ers have given him the ‘green light’ to leave Leeds United next month with three clubs keen on signing him.
That is according to a report from Italian outlet Il Romanista. They say that The 49ers have given Leeds the ‘green light’ for Gnonto to leave Elland Road, with Gnonto boasting the chance to move to Serie A.
Lazio, Roma and Fiorentina are all said to be keen on a move for the winger – but only if the price is right for Gnonto. Leeds are said to value the speedster at a bargain fee of £13m, prior to the January window.
It comes after reports that Leeds would be open to tying Gnonto down to a new contract. Other reports say he could leave – making his future certainly, one that is up in the air. His current deal ends in 2027.

Leeds green light Willy Gnonto exit with three clubs interested
It is likely that Gnonto will want to move and certainly, to one of the three clubs interested. Big sides with European football on offer. Roma of course, have a solid connection in terms of transfers with Leeds.
Rasmus Kristensen and Diego Llorente are currently on loan at Jose Mourinho’s side and the latter is being linked permanently to the Stadio Olimpico. Euro 2024 will also be a consideration for Gnonto.
He needs to be playing regular football in order to obtain a place in Italy’s squad. If he is playing in his own country, and starting matches for one of the three clubs keen, it will boost his Euro 2024 chances.
But that is a big if. If he can’t break into the Leeds side at the moment, what chance does he have of starting for the likes of Lazio, Fiorentina or Roma? Gnonto has a big decision to make on his future.
