Leeds United legend Stuart Dallas cannot understand one element of his former side’s season to date after their statement victory against Chelsea.

The Elland Road atmosphere was at its intimidating best, as Daniel Farke sent a message to his critics with a famous win over Chelsea.

Leeds needed a response after four consecutive defeats had seen them slide into the Premier League relegation fight, and they duly delivered, with Jaka Bijol setting the tone with an early goal.

The win saw Gabby Agbonlahor change his verdict on Leeds’ survival hopes, claiming that their home form could still steer them to safety this season.

Now, Stuart Dallas has questioned Leeds’ away form, as they continue to rely on results at Elland Road in their survival hunt.

Stuart Dallas questions Leeds United’s away form

Speaking on The Verdict on LUTV, former Leeds hero Dallas questioned the away form under Farke this season.

While Leeds’ home form would see them sit comfortably in mid-table in the Premier League table, Leeds have only cobbled together three points on the road.

According to Dallas, he is at a loss as to why Leeds have been unable to translate their success at Elland Road into points away from home.

Dallas said: “We’ve seen they’ve been really poor away from home this year. Why? We don’t know.

“Nobody can put their finger on it. But, if they can be hard to beat here, which they have been, it stands them in good stead.”

What the pundits said about Leeds and Daniel Farke after the win over Chelsea 👏

Stephen Warnock: “The last game and a half could change Leeds’ season, with the new system and the belief. They look a completely different team now.”

Conor Coady: “Leeds were fantastic. You talk about bogey teams and I think they are Maresca’s bogey team, he always seems to struggle against them.”

Gary Neville: “The way in which they played tonight will see them pick up more points. There’s a lot to like about what we saw.”

Stuart Dallas: “Leeds were bang on it. The manager deserves credit, he could’ve have easily gone back to what he believes in, but he stuck with it and deserves credit.”

How does Leeds’ Premier League form at Elland Road compare to their away form?

Although Farke will be riding the wave of a well-deserved home win, Leeds’ poor form away from home remains a problem that needs to be resolved.

According to the data from the Premier League website, Leeds have the joint 12th-best home record in the top flight this season, having won three, drawn two and lost just once at Elland Road.

By contrast, only the bottom side, Wolves, have a worse record away from home than Leeds, as the Whites have won one and lost six of their seven away games to date.

Farke will be relieved that their next game is at home, as Leeds take on Liverpool at the weekend. However, he needs to find a way to pick up some points on the road to boost his side’s survival chances.
