Since David Healy left Leeds United in 2007, the Whites have had five Northern Irish players. That includes Stuart Dallas and Bailey Peacock-Farrell.
In the 1-0 defeat in UEFA World Cup qualifying last night, David Healy and Stuart Dallas were on punditry duty together for the BBC. Meanwhile, Bailey Peacock-Farrell was in goal.
Both Peacock-Farrell and Dallas were Leeds United players from 2015-2019, with the goalkeeper leaving for Burnley in the summer of 2019. He spent one-and-a-half seasons as number-one in 2018/19 and some of 2017/18.
He has been Northern Ireland’s most consistent first-choice since 2018, amassing 52 caps for his country. Many of those came alongside Dallas before his early retirement in 2024, having not played professionally since 2022.
Now a pundit, Dallas loves Northern Ireland’s Isaac Price. However, he is less enamoured with recent displays from a few individuals at international level.

Stuart Dallas lays into former Leeds teammate Bailey Peacock-Farrell
Peacock-Farrell was desperate for Dallas to get fit again. That never materialised, but they clearly have a friendship of sorts from their time together both internationally and with Leeds.
Speaking to the BBC at half-time, Dallas was harsh in his criticism of his former Leeds and Northern Ireland teammate. Newcastle United striker Nick Woltemade scored the only goal from a corner in the first half.
On the goal, Dallas said: “Ultimately, goes for a corner and you see Woltemade here and it’s just Isaac Price who’s marking him.
“Can Daniel [Ballard] go and engage? I’m also looking at Bailey. It’s in the six-yard box. Do you know what I mean?
“The ball is right in the middle of the six-yard box. I know there’s players there in front of him but Bailey is a big boy.
“Come and clean everybody out of the way. And the referee will give the decision your way if there’s any contact.
“Bailey has allowed himself to be blocked in there. But, if I’m a goalkeeper, use your hands.
“Get them out of the way. Come and punch the ball. For me, Michael [O’Neill] will come and look at that and be really disappointed that Bailey hasn’t.
“He might look at Daniel and can Daniel go and engage? But Bailey, come and push people out of the road.”
The former Leeds utility man has been talking about goalkeepers plenty this week, with Dallas voicing support for Karl Darlow after his display against England.

Bailey Peacock-Farrell’s career post-Leeds United
Peacock-Farrell was a part of Marcelo Bielsa’s first XI but he has had an interesting career post-Leeds. That is clear, even if his Northern Ireland shirt has been mostly secure in goal.
| Team | Years | Appearances |
| Leeds United | 2015-2019 | 41 |
| York City (loan) | 2017 | 4 |
| Burnley | 2019-2024 | 24 |
| Sheffield Wednesday (loan) | 2021/22 | 47 |
| AGF (loan) | 2023/24 | 28 |
| Birmingham City | 2024- | 16 |
| Blackpool (loan) | 2025/26 | 12 |
| Northern Ireland | 2018- | 52 |
Now with Blackpool, albeit no longer managed by Steve Bruce, Peacock-Farrell is first-choice for a team second-bottom of League One. He’s come a long way since those Leeds days under Bielsa.
