Bailey Peacock-Farrell has been quoted by the Belfast Telegraph as saying that he cannot wait to see Leeds United ace Stuart Dallas back in action “as soon as possible” – with Dallas last playing 14 months ago, back in April 2022.
Dallas, 32, broke his leg during a League game against Manchester City in April 2022. The versatile star remains out injured, failing to be fit enough for Northern Ireland’s fixtures against Denmark and Kazakhstan later this month.
Following relegation to the Championship, Leeds will be hoping Dallas can return to action sooner rather than later in order to aid our push for promotion in 2023-24. Dallas remains a key player, especially in the second English tier.
Peacock-Farrell, who left Leeds for Burnley in January 2019 – six months after Marcelo Bielsa joined the club – was speaking about his ex-Leeds, and current Northern Ireland teammate. He says he hopes to have him back playing.
“It’s horrible. I was watching the game when he got injured and I texted him straight after. It’s not nice because he’s having a long time out with it and it’s a real shame. I love having him here [training camp] with Northern Ireland.
“He is such a big part of this team and the Leeds team. To not see him play isn’t good and I’d love to see him playing as soon as possible,” Peacock-Farrell said when discussing Dallas, as quoted by the Belfast Telegraph this week.
Peacock-Farrell cannot wait to see Leeds ace Dallas back in action
Now in the Championship, getting a fully fit Dallas back will be like a new signing. But the question mark will be if he can get back to the standard anywhere near the Dallas that scored a brace away against Manchester City to win 2-1.
If he is half that player, he is still worth having around but hopefully, Leeds get a version of Dallas that is close to his very best. Having him at left-back with Junior Firpo likely to go, Leeds’ chances of promotion will be much stronger.
