Archie Gray has committed his long-term future to Leeds United as the teenager continue to shine under the guidance of boss Daniel Farke – and Simon Grayson has reacted with a nine-word verdict.
Brilliant news. Gray‘s future was one that was slowly creeping itself into a bit of a worrying category. The noise had been that he intends to stay put – the lure of England’s biggest clubs will have been tempting.
Tottenham were keeping an eye with Ange Postecoglou getting some lovely stuff out of his Spurs side. Leeds and Spurs have got a strong relationship – born out of Gretar Steinsson’s move to Elland Road.
Joe Rodon and Djed Spence have since gone to Leeds, the latter’s loan cancelled. Manchester United are also said to have shown interest albeit they knew they had little chance. Liverpool were also linked.
So, it was needed that Gray signed a new deal – in order to stop any growing rumours regarding his future, with his previous deal expiring in 2025. Leeds confirmed the news on their Instagram page.

Grayson was not the only one to react to the news that Gray had signed a contract. Commenting on his Instagram post, the likes of Joe Rodon, Crysencio Summerville and Stuart Dallas also gave their verdict.
What will be interesting to see is if Leeds sign a right-back this month, whether that frees up Gray to go into midfield and return to his natural spot. Or, he remains on the right for the second half of the season.
One thing is clear, wherever he plays, Gray will only continue to impress for Leeds and one man he has impressed is former boss Grayson. The Leeds icon commented a nine-word verdict on the above post.
