Manchester United and Liverpool have ‘expressed interest’ in signing Leeds United teenager Archie Gray – but The 49ers have made it clear he’s not for sale, as Leeds push for an instant promotion.

Gray, 17, has been incredible for Leeds this season. The talented star made his debut on the opening day of the season, against Cardiff. It comes after coming close to a debut under manager Jesse Marsch.

He has gone on to start 22 of our 26 League games this season, coming on as a sub in two others and simply rested in the other two. His form, in midfield or at right-back, has attracted plenty of suitors.

Tottenham are said to be keeping tabs on Gray ahead of a possible summer move for the England U20 man – with Gray rated at £50m. A report from Football Transfers says the list of admirers is growing.

Indeed, Liverpool and Manchester United are said to have ‘expressed’ an interest in signing Gray this month – but, Manchester United are wary of Gray rejecting a move, given his family are all Leeds fans.

And, that his Father, Grandfather and Great Uncle all played for Leeds – Andy, Frank and Eddie. The report also states that Leeds are confident of keeping Gray, but that may change in the summer.

Promotion could determine Gray’s decision making at the end of the season. His contract is due to expire in 18 months but that is because Leeds have to wait until he turns 18 to offer him a new deal.

But, a previous report claims Leeds are confident that Gray will sign a new contract when he turns 18 – which is in March. As he continues to shine, so will the list of admirers. But Gray is still so, so young.
